All models are equipped with new and improved engines that help customers maximize fluid efficiency. The 7210R through 7270R are equipped with a 6.8L PowerTech™ PSS engine delivering up to 270 hp at rated speed. Whereas the 7290R is equipped with a 9.0L PowerTech PSS engine delivering up to 290 hp at rated speed. Both engines feature increased power, an enhanced high pressure common rail fuel system and series turbochargers. In addition to providing maximized fluid efficiency, these engines also meet Final Tier 4 regulations.

All 7Rs feature a new cooling package. This improved cooling system provides improved performance especially in harsh operating conditions. The new cooling package limits dirt and debris buildup and offers improved serviceability. The improvements to the cooling package result in a reduced noise level. Accompanying the cooling package are redesigned hood vents which direct the air away from the operator’s line of sight.

The established and proven CommandQuad™ Eco and Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™) transmissions are still available for the new 7R Series Tractors, providing reliable and easy-to-use controls. The CommandQuad Eco is only available on 7210R and 7230R, while the IVT is available on all models.

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of John Deere’s first Powershift, the new 7R Series Tractors feature the next generation of Powershift transmissions, the all-new e23™. The new e23 transmission is base equipment on all 7R models and pairs the efficiency of a mechanical transmission with the operational ease of an IVT. The e23 features 23 forward gears and 11 reverse gears. The 23 forward gears are spaced 15 percent apart, while the reverse gears are all approximately 30 percent apart. This spacing provides smooth shift quality and allows for automation of the transmission.

The all-new e23 transmission provides the operator three different operating capabilities, automatic mode, custom mode, and manual mode. In automatic and custom mode, the transmission utilizes Efficiency Manager to shift gears automatically by allowing the tractor to take over engine and transmission control. Efficiency Manager determines the most efficient operating gear and engine speed while achieving the desired ground speed set by the operator. Alternatively, manual mode operates like a traditional Powershift transmission. Operators can enable Efficiency Manager while in manual mode, allowing them to experience the efficiency gains of automation.

Along with the introduction of a new Powershift transmission, the new 7R Series Tractors also feature new IVT improvements. The IVT includes new capabilities like pedal mode and eco settings. Pedal mode, which has previously been available on 6R Series Tractors IVT, allows operators to change the ground speed independent of the engine speed. The all new eco feature can help improve fluid efficiency by affecting how the tractor reacts to throttle and speed commands. With eco mode on, the tractor tries to keep the engine speed as low as possible to maximize efficiency. With eco off, the tractor reacts more aggressively to maintain productivity.

The 7R Series Tractors feature the new CommandView™ III cab, which builds off the industry-leading CommandView II Cab. As operators continue to spend longer days in the cab, the CommandView III cab delivers the ultimate in operator comfort including 40 degrees of seat swivel to the right enabled by a redesigned CommandARM™ and new CommandCenter™, an optional actively cooled refrigerator, and optional heated leather seats with carpet floor mat. In addition, operators will notice a quieter working environment thanks to a laminated glass front windshield.

New 10 in. CommandCenter display
With the redesigned CommandARM, operators have all tractor controls at the tip of their fingers. From the placement of primary tractor functions like throttle, transmission speed and direction, hitch, and hydraulics to creature comfort controls like heating ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), and radio, the new CommandARM was designed with the operator in mind. Controls are intuitively and ergonomically placed, including the all new CommandCenter integrated at the end of the CommandARM.

The new CommandCenter is available in either a 7 in. or 10 in. display on the 7210R and 7230R. The 7250R-7290R include the 10 in. display. By integrating tractor functions with Ag Management Solutions (AMS) capabilities, the new CommandCenter is intuitive, customizable, and easy to operate. Operators now have the ability to create multiple customized run pages to fit their operations. These run pages can be accessed easily by swiping a finger across the display screen while operating the tractor.

Lights

The 7R Series Tractors now offer LED lights as the premium lighting option. LED lights provide 40 percent more coverage than HID while using 45 percent less amperage. These new lights have an extended expected life.

In order to meet customers' increasing demand for more flexibility, an option of up to six rear electronically controlled, color-coded SCVs is available. Also, there are three hydraulic pump options for the smallest two models and two hydraulic pump options for the three larger models.

Hitches and power take-off (PTO)

Base lift capacities of the 3-point rear hitch are as follows: 12,000 lb on the 7210R and 7230R with the ability to option up to 15,200 lb. The 7250R, 7270R, and 7290R offer 15,200-lb lift capacity as base equipment, with the capability to option up to 17,300 lb.

Four rear PTO options are available, including two options with economy speeds that can be shifted in the cab from the CommandCenter.

A fully-integrated front hitch is available with 11,450-lb lift capacity to better accommodate front-implement operations. John Deere also offers a 175-hp capable, factory-installed front PTO equipped with remote engagement, clockwise, and counterclockwise PTO options with a bolt on the stub shaft.

The new 7R Series Tractors have stepped up with loads of valuable offerings: increased hp, the new e23 transmission, operator station improvements including increased right-hand seat swivel, a redesigned CommandARM, and the new larger 10 in. CommandCenter.

The expanded capabilities and versatility of these tractors coupled with a superior dealer network in the industry, deliver John Deere customers the distinctive value they expect from John Deere
