Introducing model year 2015 John Deere 9 Family of Tractors
Wheel and track models

In order to meet a wide range of customer needs, a total of nine 9R/9RT Series Tractor models will be available for model year 2015.

9R/9RT Series horsepower

The 9R/9RT Series Tractors for model year 2015 will deliver increased horsepower for more productivity. The six 9R wheel models will range from 360 hp to 620 hp* while the three 9RT track models will deliver 470 to 570 hp*. These models are powered by the John Deere PowerTech™ PSS 9.0-L and 13.5-L engines, and the Cummins® QSX 15.0-L engine. The 2015 9R/9RT Series tractors provide power and torque to maximize performance in the toughest conditions.

*Rated engine hp (ISO), 97/68/EC, at 2100 engine rpm.

John Deere HydraCushion™ suspension system

HydraCushion suspension system
Exclusive from John Deere – the HydraCushion suspension system allows the operator to maintain a high level of productivity by minimizing power hop and improving traction, which enables the tractor to put more power to the ground. This hydraulically dampened, suspended front axle system also reduces road lope. HydraCushion suspension is available on the 9520R and 9570R, and is standard on the 9620R. The 9R Tractors with HydraCushion suspension now have the option to have axle flats. These axle flats provide a higher-capacity hub-to-axle joint.

Leading the industry in hydraulic capacity

9RT rear hydraulics
CommandARM™ SCV controls
As larger implements require greater capacity, the model year 2015 9R/9RT Series offers a new hydraulic system with two hydraulic pump options – the standard pump provides 58 gpm (220 L/min) flow and the optional pump provides 115 gpm (435 L/min) flow. By delivering high flow rates at lower rpm, this hydraulic system provides the operator the ability to run at reduced engine rpm, which lowers fluid consumption and allows for a quieter operator station. This hydraulic system also increases versatility with up to six factory-installed selective control valves (SCVs) and a maximum of eight field-installed SCVs.

CommandView™ III cab

CommandView III cab with CommandARM
CommandView III cab refrigerator
The 9R/9RT Series Tractors feature the CommandView III cab. The CommandView III cab provides increased operator comfort and ease of operation with a CommandARM, 4100/4600 CommandCenter™ as well as 40 degrees of seat swivel to the right. The premium light-emitting diode (LED) lighting package provides greater nighttime visibility with a 40 percent greater coverage width while using 45 percent less amps and a longer life expectancy than standard halogen lights.

Improved e18™ PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager™

e18 PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager
An improved e18 PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager delivers smooth shifting and intuitive controls, making it easy to operate for all levels of operators, in a variety of applications. The e18 transmission features three modes of operation: full AUTO, custom, and manual. Full AUTO and custom modes manage the engine and transmission to match the desired ground speed to field conditions, while manual mode will operate like a traditional PowerShift. The e18 PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager provides a total of 18 forward speeds, with 10 field working speeds.

Active Command Steering (ACS™)

For model year 2015, ACS is available on four-wheel drive (4WD) tractors. With this industry-exclusive technology available on 4WD tractors, ACS can reduce operator fatigue and increase productivity. ACS helps operators steer easily with less input, improves line holding and steering feel at transport speeds, and reduces steering efforts from lock to lock.

Camoplast® Durabuilt® 4500 and 6500 Series tracks

The Camoplast Durabuilt track
The Camoplast Durabuilt 4500 and 6500 Series tracks replace the Camoplast Durabuilt 3500 and 5500 Series tracks for model year 2015 9RT Series Tractors. Both the 4500 and 6500 Series tracks offer improvements in puncture resistance, increased load bearing performance, and a redesigned guide lug geometry for improved side load performance. Exclusive improvements of the 6500 Series over the 5500 Series include a more puncture-resistant rubber, reinforcements to the carcass and increase in size of the high-tension main cable. All of these improvements were incorporated to make the Durabuilt 4500 and 6500 Series track belts more robust and longer lasting.

Serviceability enhancements

The new 9R/9RT Series Tractors feature the relocation of routine maintenance points to help reduce downtime. On 9R Series Tractors the primary air filter is located in an easy-to-access compartment on the cab access platform. To allow for more efficient hydraulic oil fill, the 9R/9RT Series Tractors have improved ground level access to an oversized fill port.

Ballast calculator

This calculator is to be used to estimate the correct amount of ballast for a specific tractor with certain types of implements. Due to the design of the model year 2015 9R/9RT Series Tractors, proper ballast should be verified using this calculator.
